  1. I have got a Maestro card issued in one of European banks. Can I use this card within Ukraine, in your bank? Can I withdraw cash from my card account?
Yes, you can. But it mustn't be a local card, valid only in a certain country.
  2. How long does it take to issue a plastic card?
Plastic card issuance time is 5 working days.
  3. May I keep plastic card close by the cell phone?
    No, you may not.
  4. What papers are required for account opening?
A resident has to present his passport and identification number of taxpayer ('ИНН'). This certificate one can get at his local Inspection of Taxes. A non-resident has to present only his passport with registration in Ukraine.
  5. Are there any restrictions on placing money into an account?
For residents there are no restrictions, for non-residents - only on presenting papers justifying the origin of funds (import, foreign remittance, inheritance, earnings etc.).
  6. Kindly tell briefly about the conditions of foreign remittance.
For non-residents foreign remittance is executed within the limit of balance on an account, for residents - remittances to a physical person for the amounts up to $ 300 require no papers, remittances for higher amounts are executed on presenting papers confirming direct relationship, invoices, treatment certificate etc. When going abroad for a permanent residence one is to present the passport with a permanent residence note and the no debts certificate from the Inspection of Taxes: the sum to carry is not restricted.
  7. How do I receive a foreign remittance from my relatives?
There are different ways: transfer into a bank account of the beneficiary, transfer for passport details, payment by cheque, payment via Western Union. When transferring into a bank account or for passport details you have to provide the ordering customer, apart from an account number and passport details, with the Nostro-account of Real Bank in the currency of payment. For the most common currencies you will be offered a sample of payment order in the ordering bank.
  8. What are the rouble correspondent accounts of the bank of K and H types?
In order to receive money remittance from Russia you are recommended to send to the payer a sample of payment order for rouble transfer via both a K correspondent account and an N one of JSC REAL BANK. The Russian bank servicing the payer will determine itself what type of account to use for the transfer in question and what digital code of operation to give. When transferring funds in Russia, in the field 'Details of Payment' of payment order prior to the text itself you have to indicate a digital NNNKNF sign, where NNN is a digital code of operation.
  9. How much time does it take to receive a foreign remittance?
The term in which a payment will arrive depends on the payments execution rules of the bank servicing the ordering customer and the number of the banks involved in the transaction. As usual, it is 2-7 working days. In some cases the term may amount to 10 days. If a payment was not received on the expiry of 10 days after its sending, it is expedient to initiate an investigation. JSC REAL BANK has opened correspondent accounts with the prominent banks of the United States, Europe, and CIS in the main currencies and applies efforts as to shorten the payments execution terms both in favor and by order of its clients.
  10. Two weeks ago it was sent to me a money remittance, and up to now I have not received it. What should I do?
In this case it is expedient to initiate an investigation, as it is most likely that the payment was, for one reason or another, delayed by a bank taking part in the transaction. As a rule, delay in payment is because an ordering bank did not provide all information on the payment route. As a result, one of the intermediary banks could not process the payment without additional information. As usual, it is the ordering bank that initiates an investigation what the ordering customer submits an application for. If you present a copy of the payment order, the experts of JSC REAL BANK can check free its correctness and completeness. Also, if you wish, REAL BANK can initiate an investigation for its part. This investigation is chargeable. In case of rouble payment non-receipt, one should remember that according to the Central Bank of Russian Federation requirements the transfers of the amounts up to 5000 RRF are executed in the short-format payments, i.e. full information on the ordering customer, beneficiary, and details of payment arrives by mail within 7-14 days after the funds sending off.
  11. I have received a payment for an amount less the charges of correspondent banks, though the ordering customer paid commission to his bank. Why were additional charges deducted?
Every bank involved in the transaction deducts charges for payment execution according to its tariffs. The ordering customer can order his bank to deduct charges according to one of the options below: All transaction charges to be borne by the Sender (charges: OUR): the ordering customer pays to the bank the most high amount of commission: commission covers the charges of all banks taking part in the transaction, the beneficiary receives the whole amount of the payment. Charges shared between the ordering customer and the beneficiary customer (charges: SHA): the most used way of commission deduction. The ordering customer pays the charges of the ordering bank, and the beneficiary pays the charges of all other banks involved in the transaction. The beneficiary receives the funds in the amount less the charges of all banks other than the ordering bank. Charges to be borne by the beneficiary customer (charges: BEN or by default): The ordering customer doesn't pay any commission. The charges of the ordering bank and all other banks taking part in the transaction are borne by the beneficiary.
  12. Why does it take so much time to collect a bearer cheque?
The payer has this advantage that he hasn't to go to his bank in order to transfer the funds by a bearer cheque - he is simply to make out a cheque in favor of the beneficiary and send it to the latter by mail. Moreover, the payer saves time and doesn't pay the bank commission for payment. That's why the bearer cheques are so popular with the payers. Unfortunately, we cannot say the same with regard to the cheque-holders. So, on receipt of a cheque, the beneficiary has to go to his bank and give an order for collection. This means that the bank sends the cheque by mail to its correspondent bank with instruction to transfer the cover to one of its correspondent accounts. The correspondent bank, in its turn, presents the cheque directly or via one of its correspondents to the bank servicing account to the payer: the amount of the cheque is written down from the payer's account and the funds are transferred to the beneficiary's bank. The schema above explains the rather long terms of the payments by bearer cheques - around 2 months from the day on which the cheque was presented to the beneficiary's bank. It should be noted that receipt of funds by cheque is not guaranteed: it may turn out that the account is closed or there is not enough money on it to pay the cheque.
